No matter where your mental health is at, always remember to address it with all the qualities of love: kindness, patience, no judgment or ego.
Mental health is not a straight line, it’s ups and downs and side ways of emotions. One minute I feel I am my best self and the next I want to crawl underneath my covers and shut the world out. And something I’ve realized, especially the older I get, is that maintaining my mental health isn’t about finding that one thing or that one routine to keep me happy. Instead it’s about accepting every roller coaster of emotions that come my way.
When joy comes I embrace it and bask in, when sadness comes I cry and remind myself that it is not temporary. And despite what emotions come my way I always remember to go through them with love.
